Deidre Difazio Recognized as 2025 Telecommunicator of the Year

Here’s just one of the many reasons Senior Emergency Services Dispatcher Deidre Difazio is our Telecommunicator of the Year:

After a distressed and suicidal man called 9-1-1, Deidre spent nearly 20 minutes on the phone with him across two calls, using calm, compassionate conversation to build trust during an incredibly tense situation. While the man struggled with thoughts of ending his life and had access to a firearm, Deidre never wavered, reassuring him, encouraging him to put the weapon down, and guiding him to safely meet responding deputies.

Through patience, persistence, and coordination with law enforcement, Deidre helped ensure everyone’s safety and that the man was transported to receive the help he desperately needed.

Deidre’s steady presence transformed what could have been a tragic outcome into one of hope, proving how vital 9-1-1 professionals are during life’s most critical moments.
